The 2006 Girls came home from the prestigous WAGS tournament with two wins and a loss in Virginia. In the first match against VYS (VA) the team was off to a good start only to give up a goal against the run of play. From there, the team could not seem to find their rhythm but with less than a minute remaining Olivia Moyer found the back of the net to level the score, 1-1. Just seconds after the kickoff to restart the play VYS was then given a penatly kick from the spot for a foul in the box as time expired. The kick was granted and VYS did not let the opportunity slip away.
In the second match of the day the team played D'Feeters from Dallas Texas. The girls showed why they were crowned Eastern PA President's Cup Champions and had the better run of play and possession throughout the match. Final score was 3-1. Central midfielder Summer Hill got the brace.
In the teams final game of the WAGS tournament the girls found themselves down 1-0 to West-Mont (PA-E) just thirty seconds into play but immediately came back to tie the score. Later in the half, Sophie Frank took a wonderful pass from Katie Bresinger and confidently placed the ball, beating the keeper, low and to the far corner for the game winner.
We are looking forward to seeing more great things from this talented group of young ladies. Keep up the HARD WORK!
